Wind- whipped Light

Despite all the alarm about today's weather, and I know it has been terrible at the coasts and in flooded areas, there were some beautiful moments when the light had that edgy gun metal hue.
After a scrummy lunch in the Salt Cellar in Shaftesbury, we drove up high to Fontmell Down where the contours are rounded and folding. There's a lovely walk there with orchids later in the year but today it was the rain followed by bright sunshine crossing intermittently in the distance until it looked like a watercolor wash, which we stopped to admire.
I always think there's so much to enjoy at weekends and so much to appreciate like Shaftesbury council planting swathes of snowdrops on their verges and the cheering brightness of adventurous daffodils.
Tonight we are going to an artsreach event at Buckland Newton Village Hall - a one woman show 'The Fossil Lady of Lyme' and given the link with geologists in the family,I'm really looking forward to it.
