Dark Day in Edinburgh
I took a slightly different walking route to Easter Road on a pretty dull and wet afternoon. This shot shows the Balmoral Hotel, the old Post Office building which now I think houses Amazon, North Bridge and an Edinburgh bus and the newly refurbished roof of Waverley Station. I walked down the Royal mile amid some bedraggled tourists and small groups of England rugby fans, putting off time before the late afternoon kick off at Murrayfield.
The day didn't brighten any on the football or rugby pitch either. Hibs were well beaten by Raith Rovers with a quite abysmal display , so the wait for Scottish cup triumph goes on. I suspect that we will not win the Cup in my grandchildrens' lifetime let alone mine.
England also came and took what looked like a pretty straightforward victory. No Bannockburn spirit there then.
