'Here Comes The Sun'
Again....
A stifling hot night last night with the minimum out our way sitting at around 33 degrees when I woke up at around 6am this morning.
We've managed to keep the house down to around 27 - 28 degrees inside though, so bearable to sleep. Back up in the low 40's again by mid morning with really strong winds (not a good recipe during fire season). We had a 'Watch and Act' warning sent out to us just after midday as there was a bushfire out of control in North Warrandyte so we packed up our essentials including the Guinea pigs and mice and hit the road. Our bushfire plan is to get the hell out of here as fast as we can. We don't want to risk our lives, especially as the fire warning was lifted to Code Red today (The highest warning)
Spend the afternoon wandering aimlessly around the air conditioned shopping centre at Doncaster until around 4pm when we received the message that the fire was under control and it was safe to return home.
A sort of cool change has blown through now dropping the temps to around 27 degrees with a nice cooling breeze blowing through. Windows and doors are opened up to cool us down as much as possible.
As I'm typing this I have just heard the fire alarm going off at our local CFA station, better go and check what's happening now.
Stay safe everyone.
Edit, just saw that my shot from 1 year ago was this one, one of my most popular ever.
