Our view

We look down across Haysden and the Medway flood plain to the village of Leigh. There is a flood barrier (by the A21 on the right of the photo) to protect Tonbridge and the other villages downstream. Normally there is just one lake to the left of the barrier. Today the whole valley is flooded

When the water level gets so high that parts of the barrier are in danger of being washed away, the barrier is opened; Tonbridge floods, Sainsbury's becomes an island and lots of folks homes are wrecked.
