A Monkey's Tale

Jack & Izzy

Slightly worse for wear after last nights antics, that inevitably stretched into the wee hours, we had a very slow paced morning.

Lauren rustled up some beautiful scrambled eggs (which she's been practicing at school), with the crispiest of bacon on top of toast - just what the doctor ordered. Suze was out with the girls in Exeter, as a 13 year old does, & so we chilled with Lauren in the living room & watched Despicable Me 2.

Energies slightly renewed, Jenny & I travelled the short distance to Cullompton to visit Clare & her two young kiddies, Jack (1 & 1/2) & Izzy (3), who are still super cute! Jack's really grown up & becoming a real mini person, & Izzy is so excitable & bouncy. We played a few of Izzy's latest favourites - a shopping list & chef memory games - it was good fun & Izzy is very good with her letters & words.

In the evening, as a belated Christmas present, Jenny & I conjured a home-made supper for the Benson's - we had gnocchi with pancetta & mozzarella, tear & share bread & a lovely light lemon pudding. We had champers & hats & crackers (glitter quickly covered everything in sight) & we had a great laugh playing Linkee & Who's In The Bag with the Alan, Clare & the girls.

A delish & fun belated Christmas at the Benson's.
