A little gem ...

... in one of manchester's most deprived areas.

We went to 'the monastery' , or Gorton Monastery as we know it. Beautiful monastery building which has been tastefully restored .. Unfortunately it is just used as a venue for functions now and although beautifully done, I can't help wondering if the people of Gorton actually benefit from the 6.5 million project....

We had a nice couple of hours there, before having a lazing afternoon at home watching more of the Olympics ..
