Deceptive Sunset

Quand je suis allée à l’école, ils m’ont demandé ce que je voulais être quand je serai grande.
J’ai répondu « heureuse ».
Ils m’ont dit que je n’avais pas compris la question, je leur ai répondu qu’ils n’avaient pas compris la vie.

When I went to school, they asked me what I would like to be when I was older.
I answered, "happy".
They told me that I had not understood the question, and I replied that they had not understood the question.

This is a building on campus, with some rather complicated lighting rigging. Whenever I see it I always think that there is some sort of sunset occurring!

After spending all day doing a shift as a Widening Participation Ambassador and working with year ten in the GOAL/UniTracks programme, a programme run by Warwick for gifted and talented students in the local area. Warwick says about this programme:-

'At Warwick, we're passionate about making sure there are no barriers or obstacles to attending Higher Education. We work with teachers to identify bright Year 10 students who are passionate about learning, are high achievers and have loads of potential. Students join our four-year programme to learn all about university life and applications from a Russell Group university that is consistently at the top of university league tables. UniTracks students are invited to regular events to build their skills, confidence and academic attainment. They have the opportunity to attend exciting workshops, take part in competitions, experience subject taster days and join us for summer schools.

Our aim is that by the end of the programme, students will have made an informed choice about their future, and have the necessary qualifications, skills and attributes to go as far in life as they want to.'

After a long day I then headed to Thom's, and by chance managed to get a train rather than a bus and missing all the chaos that happened due to the exit to Leicester being closed! A lucky coincidence. We were picked up from the station by Thom's Mum, and spent the evening at his parents. Amazing food, lovely company...so nice to spend the evening with his family after not seeing them for a while.
