Aughrim River and Forge
We went to the small town of Tinahely to day in order to attend the opening of an exhibition of art work by Niamh Jackman, an artist we haven't met for some time. Not since we were both working for the Arklow Community Arts Centre in fact. Nice work on show and we came away having bought a nice little ink drawing of some winter trees which I will be collecting in 3 weeks time when the show comes down. Will blip it then.
Today's blip shows the river and the old forge in the village of Aughrim which is en route between here and Tinahely. Aughrim has several times won the annual competition to find the tidiest village in Ireland. A really nice little place.
Some of you were wondering what my next project would be after finishing that dreaded report. Well next up is the design and printing of invitations for the launch ceremony when the Minister for Social Protection herself will be visiting our offices. Right now I am assisting an artist friend to put together her Powerpoint presentation which apparently will be a major part of her Masters Degree in Fine Art. I have been working on that while keeping a sneak look at Ireland's great rugby victory over Wales yesterday and again today I did some more work on it. Another small bit to do yet this evening and that will complete the project. Don't be surprised if I don't make it back here tonight.
Oh! and did I mention Ireland's GREAT rugby win over Wales yesterday?? A mere 26 points to 3 in a game the Welsh were threatening to stuff us in. Heh, heh!!!
