Inside Out
Ambleside, Lake District. UK.
The Lakes at Ambleside were very wet and grey until midday today. The conditions seemed appropriate for the Coffin Route between Rydal Mount and Grasmere.
The Coffin Route is so called as it was the path that was taken to transport the dead between Rydal and Grasmere. There was no church at Rydal. It also passes Dove cottage, Wordsworth's home. One can look down on the path in his garden which he used to pace up and down reciting poetry.
The mirror reflects the rather spartan outdoor experience of the day from the road alongside Grasmere.
