Higher Than The Sun
Up and away before the sun comes into view.
Footy night again and a fine display of three a side.
Went for a walk again with Old Mum Dude, bumped into my nephew who had been starting his own bonfire wi wan o es pals. Enuff said.
Also, as we got back to the house we discovered somebody else had started their own bonfire as well across at the Industrial Estate, as we are both quite nosey it needed proper inspection. As we entered the I.S. we saw a car pulling out (time approx 9:30pm) a bit suspicious like. We continued to walk towards the reek only to find that the car that was leaving had U-turned, drove past us and parked beside the remains of the fire which was in the small field adjacent. Two (slightly shifty looking) men got out, the driver said that they had seen that there was a fire and that they had put it out. (how very noble!) And that they had informed the fire brigade!!! According to my mum she says that the people who own the units burn stuff all the time in the field to save money and this was the same story. Typically, OMD piped up to the driver that I was an environmentalist (which means something of authority in OMDs head, not the case in mine), although at which point it did have a rather odd effect on the driver and he decided to come clean and say that it was him and the guy he was with that had started the fire and they had just finished putting it out. "Is that alright?" he asks me, tentatively, presumably because 'Im an environmentalist' I now have to be consulted on the matter. A slight, slow shake off the head in his direction and a look to my mum to say lets go, our work is done here and off we went back to the hoose for a nice cup of tea and laughed about it. Whilst having a tab oot the back it did get me thinking, the nights im not playing footy I could wander the streets looking for environmental injustices could be a new evening pastime for me, I will have to get a badge made up or maybe a business card (laminated, OBVIOUSLY) with the words 'Environmentalist' on it. Now, would I need some sort of sidearm, it is Alloa after all...
