#Shelfie 7
This was one of the days when I would not have blipped at all if I hadn't been trying to maintain a run of consecutive blips for awhile. This is another section of my bookshelves, this time in a reference section behind my desk in the study.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Rolling Stones - Now I've Got a Witness (Like Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene) (recorded 4 February 1964, Regent Sound, London)
This was recorded on this day fifty years ago in a tiny demo studio on Kingsway. It was quite popular by groups like the Pretty Things and the Stones because the engineer, Bill Farley, created such a great sound. As Phil Spector and Gene Pitney both contributed to recording sessions, they are credited in the subtitle of this, based around the chords to Marvin Gaye's Can I Get a Witness, which features on the album. "Uncle Phil and Uncle Gene" didn't play on this track, but Gene Pitney played piano and Phil Spector maracas on Little By Little.
Now I've Got A Witness is credited to Nanker and Phelge, indicating that royalties would be shared amongst the whole band (including sixth Stone Ian Stewart in the early days). According to Bill Wyman, "Phelge came from Edith Grove flatmate Jimmy Phelge, while a Nanker was a revolting face that band members, Brian in particular, would pull."
