City surfers

Those are Munich's famous Eisbach surfers. They are surfing year round on a standing wave in the middle of the city on the southern edge of Englischer Garten. It's not an unfamiliar sight in Munich, if you see a guy or girl in a wetsiut riding a bike in the middle of winter, carrying a surfboard under his arm. By the way, today was an enjoyable cloudy day with a pleasant temperature of 1°C. It was almost a year ago that I first blipped an Eisbach surfer.

It was here at the Eisbach, where river surfing in inner cities was invented and the Eisbach today is the world's largest urban surfing spot.
