Corstorphine Doocot

Built in the 1500s to provide fresh meat and eggs during winter months to the residents of Corstorphine Castle, the doocot has 1,060 sandstone nesting boxes.

The beehive shaped building is all that remains of the castle which was demolished in about 1797.
