Fish out of water
. . . .. or mermaids actually. Two of them grace the center front porch pillars at the Museum School. This type of art has a name "yarn bombing" or "yarn storming" and is part of the POW! WOW! Hawaii! exhibit, done by Hanasaurusrex. Her notes credit this street art concept to a Texas knitter in 2005, but she acknowledges that it goes back further before a name was actually given for this kind of art. I remember seeing a tiny brightly coloured sweater on the main trunk with branches out the sleeves on a young staked tree up in Washington state back earlier than that. Love these unexpected acts of joy which add more than colour to your day.
