More Boaty Bits!

This may well be part on a winch or windlass. It's in amongst the heaps of rotting timbers and rusting pieces of iron work which are all that remain of the old boats along the end of the village. The rope is about 10cm diameter to give you some idea of scale.

Mike spent his day off cracking on with the hall way and it is now ready for plastering. Chap came out to measure up for the new front door too, so things are really moving a pace! I made the most of the decent weather by digging a new flower bed out of the front lawn. It is mostly moss and dandelions and the soil is quite shallow over a layer of beach stone but it is deep enough for flowers. I was amazed how dry the soil was, and how teeming with worms it was too. Now we shall need some plants to put in it!
