IKI
No not icky, though it should be pronounced the same.
Today had both good and bad, some real some imagined.
Ran 8km without the camera. Less stopping, better running.
Put the pancake 40mm on in an attempt to reduce weight, stick to one lens for a day and make myself look less conspicuous when trying to photograph strangers then set off out with the missus to get her a new phone. Both kids in tow.
Some tedium, some playing, some lunch, some shopping, some milk that didn't want to stay down, some early valentines chocolates for daddy, some bloody cold weather.
On the escape route bumped into a good friend who is the most British Japanese person we know. Went for coffee in Iki, which means to do something quickly often meaning to drink something down in one as you might with a shot of espresso. It's a cool little place run by nice people and the owner didn't mind me leaning over the counter to take pictures of him at the helm of his espresso machine.
Checked my inbox out of guilt. It seems someone forgot to inform the world outside of Japan that it was a national holiday today. Dealt with some of it, made dinner, bathed baby. Knackered.
Would have liked to have posted all the shots on the way like a story with no explanation but I think they'd revoke my license to blip. So, instead here is the rather too cool for school neon sign at IKI which is cemented directly into the wall.
