The road to nowhere
Drawing this fellow at work today.
This is a gatehouse to an 18th century country house. Built at the same time as the house, the landowner had gained permission from the local farmer to put the road to his house through the farmer's land. He built a spectacular gatehouse, but the farmer then died. His son promptly said 'no deal' so we have a gatehouse in the middle of a wood with no roads leading to or from it. Very amusing.
It's category A Listed, and must be recorde din detail before its altered.
