Ready for battle

Foul weather today, and there is absolutely no way I am going out with my camera today. Even Murdoch stuck his nose out the back door and quickly scuttled back inside into his bed.

I cannot understand why the flooding disaster has turned into such a political blame-game. I won't express my opinions in case I offend someone with my political views, but sometimes, natural disasters just happen. It seems there is always someone in the political arena ready to make an unnecessary battle out of something.

On a completely different matter, we found out this week that Thomas was invited to train at a junior GB ski camp next week - based on his dry ski slope race results back in September last year. He has apparently been invited to a week's training in Italy, and the letter was apparently sent to us last year in November. But we never got it so he is not going. To be honest, it is a bit of a mug's game, all these thousands of British ski children going on these ski training camps at an enormous expense, and we have how many GB downhill skiers at Sochi...oh that's right, only two!! We are going skiing as a family over half term and he said he would rather do that, even if we had received the letter.
