Final Preparations

Down to the last minute preparations for the holiday of a lieftime to Yosemite. Unfortunately, dirty sensors are a fact of life these days so a final clean was called for. I always feel uncomfortable doing this, but I suppose once you've successfully done it a few times, you begin to realise that as long as you are careful it can be accomplished.

It is interesting that the camera manufacturers used to place dire warnings about touching the sensor when digital SLRs first came out. You actually don't touch the sensor but rather it is protected by an IR (and anti aliasing) filter.

Anyway, off down to Heathrow tomorrow, with an overnight stop in a local hotel then flying off on Friday morning. It has been a very long and stressful couple of weeks so I'm hoping this brief hiatus before the flights will allow me time to wind down.
