Birthdays are challenging days, days where you're expected to perform, and your expectations of others are intense and overrated.

This year I didn't want any fuss, didn't want to perform, I just wanted to relax and feel comfortable in my own skin, and I have to say I achieved it, woke up relaxed with a cuddle and went to bed feeling loved and content. Birthdays for me are not about presents, although I was blessed with some lovely gifts, birthdays are about feeling cared for and I received so many lovely messages I couldn't help but feel at ease with myself and I went to bed happy to be 42!
