Pyrites

This is a wonderful lump of iron pyrites - otherwise known as 'fools gold' (for obvious reasons! You can see the cubic crystals in cross-profile. I had this rock sectioned (cut and polished) many years ago as a geological specimen, but now it only functions as an attractive paperweight... does that say anything about our aspirations, or only the passage of time...?
