We are lucky.

It has rained all day and I have been indoors much of the time. But today my daughter has blipped a picture of several inches of snow at her home in the Highlands. The flooding in the South has been horrendous; winds in excess of 100 mph have ravaged some parts in Wales; there are serious bush fires on Australia close to Melbourne; it is not so long since ice storms hit New York. So I think that we in the Central Belt of Scotland have been very fortunate.

So it was a day of cooking and doing some correspondence that has been waiting for a day or two. Not a bad day at all.
