Thinking things over

Last day off before I return to work....reflecting. I sat myself in a corner of the in the Edinburgh Printmakers Gallery and was reading about the Gameti Ko project in the Northwest Territories of Canada a project organized by the Thicho First Nations people in order to claim back their communities from the Canadian government. In this way they could self govern and be responsible for their own change. One of the elders said "To us this country is not remote; all around us is where people have lived. It is our home." To them there is no separation between home and the land.
I believe that if more people thought that way then maybe our world wouldn't be in the state that we see it today...
