Jacobean School

This rather lovely old building is in the small Northamptonshire town of Burton Latimer. The sign above the house on the left reads "This house was built in 1622. The freeschool was founded by Thomas Burbank and Margaret his wife 1587". It ceased to be a school when a new one was built early in the 1960s. Both school buildings are now private houses. The pupils transferred to a third larger building in the mid 1970s when the town rapidly expanded.

A day of respite from the wind and rain and an opportunity for a short walk in the sun before the next storm arrives.
