I'll not be shifting any more sheep for you.

Chatting to neighbours Phil & Sue over the field gate this afternoon whilst surveying the damage done to their property through the night.

18 of their avenue of trees came down at some point causing a fair amount of damage, not least of which to this old stock lorry which Phil was storing for a friend.

They were telling me they planted these trees 27 years ago to put up a bit of a shield between their farm and the new houses being built in the village for the 'outsiders,' said with a bit of a smile while looking at me! (How dare they - we're locals!)

And now there are only a handful of them left.

Still. As Phil said, nobody was hurt and that's the main thing.

Sad to see what has been a local icon for miles around reduced to this though.

No shortage of firewood in the area now!
