Mergus Merganser.

Otherwise known as the Goosander.
We took a run up to Callander this afternoon hoping that the riverside walk would be clear. Alas not, it was submerged at both ends so we have no idea what condition the middle was in but we have our suspicions.
In the past I have found Goosander to be quite shy birds but this pair were in no rush to be elsewhere.
Later this afternoon we went down to wish Euan a very Happy Third Birthday. Euan has had a great day, a string of visitors and lots of presents bit still found room to share his birthday cake with us.
