Aberdaron

This fantastic little village on the far-most tip of Pen Llŷn (the Llyn Peninsula) in North West Wales has for over thirty years been our family's favourite place.

Peaceful, quiet, unspoilt and not often on the map; until it was hit by the strongest winds in the UK last night - 108 miles per hour...

The people of Llŷn are, proud, lovely and very friendly - so long as you don't ram "English" down their throats! Our thoughts are with Gladwys, Will, Griffry-John, Glenys, Harry, Gwilym, Gareth, Meriel and many, many more friends we've made over the years.

This painting hangs on the chimney breast in our lounge in York, as a permanent reminder that we need to go back soon! Actually, from where the artist was standing on the beach, you can't see the two islands at all. They are much further out and Dave and I have spent many hours in his boat fishing for mackerel on the other side of them.

Bet the artist would be an avid fan of Photoshop if he were a photographer; oh well, no accounting for taste...
