Definitely no time for TV

The other teaching fellows were at University for an in-day so it was a one fellow show today.

I taught the third years chest x-ray interpretation, nebulisers, swabs and cannulation (picture) before lunch. Fortunately a kind FY1 came along to help me teach. In the afternoon we did some case based discussions and a quiz. The students wanted to do the quiz boys vs. girls and got so competitive! Great fun actually!!

I popped into town before Brownies (can't say why). It was science night for the girls this week. They loved finding out whether various liquids were acid or alkali using a smelly cabbage-based indicator solution (picture)! How do you explain what an acid actually is to 6 year olds though?! I struggled there.

Finally I visited my grandad after his planned procedure in hospital. He was so pleased to see me which was lovely.

Now to do some marking...
