Brassai 's Love of Paris
We took an outing to the Hotel de Ville (Paris City Hall) for an exhibition of photographs by Brassai--it was absolutely wonderful, as are most of these city-sponsored exhibitions--they are all free, with the downside being that there's always a line (today we arrived at 14:20 and entered after just under thirty minutes).
The exhibition is entitled "Pour l'Amour de Paris". Brassai grew up in Transylvania, and after first coming to Paris in 1924 he adopted the city--and it has certainly adopted him--this show is just one more of the many proofs of that. The images are all of Paris, taken over close to thirty years. The exhibition has been extended to the 29th of March (from the 9th)--go see it, if you possibly can!
Please note: due to problems yesterday, the comments for 11/2 and 12/2 are not complete--that for Tuesday 11/2 is completely inadequate. The original was lost; I will try to reconstruct it tomorrow (14/2).
