The Future Shape of Scottish Farming was the title of today's Conference of the Fellows and Associates of The Royal Agricultural Societies at Ingliston.

A diversity of speakers led to a lively Q & A and interesting discussion with challenges and opportunities for Scottish Agriculture.

This theme continued after dinner when Nuffield Scholar Jim Baird spoke with passion on the need for new thinking to encourage entrepreneurship and new entrants into farming.

Alastair and Robert may hold divergent opinions on the thorny subject of genetic modification but don't let that get in the way of friendship.
