Fog

We woke to a big fog bank that was hanging over the city, so our original sight seeing plans were changed. A quick visit to the Embarcadero and the Ferry Building was made because we wanted to buy some loafs of bread (great bakery with lots of French breads and croissants). The tower of the building was hardly visible.
Here you can see a little more of what we saw this morning and during the rest of this trip. In front of the building there was a little farmers market and I thought that the colorful flowers would bring you a little more pleasure than grey in grey.
I was surprised when I noticed that all these flowers are organic flowers. That was a first for me. I thought that farmers would only go to the extra work of organic farming for produce that is supposed to be eaten. But maybe not for the customers of San Francisco…
We then headed out of San Francisco to have lunch with friends in Pleasanton (sun) and afterwards drove back to Reno, past Sacramento (overcast but warm) , Auburn (still warm) then up the Sierra Nevada where thick clouds built up. It started to look really dark and ugly when we neared Donner Pass and we drove down to Truckee in the pouring rain. Reno was also under a thick layer of clouds, that can be seen in my pics hidden in the link.
Sorry, it was not a day for great photography and the results were rather mediocre, but what can you expect of a foggy travel day?

I thank you so much for sending each one of my postings of the last three days into the spotlight for a little while. So kind of you! But more important were your comments to me. I loved to read them, even if I did not have the time and opportunity to answer them. Tried to visit your journals though and will continue to do so tomorrow!

It't time for me to call it a day pretty soon, but I wish you all a wonderful Friday!
