After school, and having completed his homework, Alessandro chose to have his first chess lesson.

We started with the pawns and the moved on to the Knight, otherwise named by Alessandro as the donkey.

I allowed him to gobble up all my pieces with his donkey until he had got the hang of it.

It is a pleasure to play games with Ale because he doesn't have the need to cheat, unlike his elder brother.

By dinner time, Nonno had come home from work. The two of them sat together on the sofa, under a soft blanket, watching an Asterix film while I prepared some grub.

When Ale goes home, he always elaves a warm glow behind.
