Jacob's Ladder
Today we took part in a guest experience day. The large group was divided into 4 groups of 14 and I was placed on Christy's team which I will now work with until Sunday.
The morning began with ice-breakers and energizer, many of which are similar to calls which take place at the end of Frisbee matches.
We then went up to the problem solving area and attempted to some of the challenges the kids do when on centre. Really awesome way to meet everyone and to find out who the natural leaders are. Also useful to see the way that Christy controls the tasks and makes sure everyone in the group is involved.
In the afternoon we went upto the high and low ropes areas. We began on nightline. This involves being blindfolded and working through an obstacle course. Everyone takes a turn to run the line and give out instructions to the group. Safe to say we were all covered in mud by the end! After this we moved onto the highropes, first having a go on the giant zip-wire before moving onto Jacob's ladder. I managed to reach the top!! (with Elliott's help) a massive achievement for someone with zero upperbody strength!
