BEACON

High Hunsley is a small hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, situated about 6 miles from Beverley. This image shows the High Hunley Beacon, used to commemorate the Millennium as part of a beacon project that covered all of England.

This remote spot also provides a clear marker for a number of long-distance walks that pass through this area. The High Hunsley Circuit is a 25½ mile circular walk, the Yorkshire Wolds Way is a 79 mile route and the Beverley 20 does what it says – a 20 mile walk from Hull to Beverley across the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.
