Electric Avenue
I mentioned this a few weeks ago when I blipped a shop on Brixton Hill. This is the real thing - Electric Avenue is lined with fruit & veg shops and butchers and fish mongers and it also hosts stalls from Brixton market. Even in the rain today it's vibrant; I walked along as the stalls and shops were setting up and watched as hindquarters of beef and trolleys of veg were being unloaded from vans. I took this shot later as I was heading back to the station in more determined rain. Try it in the large size - I'm sure that it'll suit you.
This is one of the more physically exacting visits as there is the mile each way from the station to the site and back and today we also went round the site to see students. The Victorians knew how to cram a lot of people into a small space and the main way of doing that is by building upwards - lots of stairs so I'm sure that my knees will let me know tomorrow. On the upside - it's Friday so I can enjoy some liquid pain relief.
I hope that you are prepared for this weekend which is being thrust upon us by an unthinking calendar and that the ongoing weather events are not messing up your world. As I type this Lizzy Yarnold has just been interviewed on the TV after winning gold. I have something in my eye..............
