SACRIFICIAL STRUCTURES #2
I'm off on a tangent now to see what hybrid ceramics I can make in my logburner.
Using a tin saggar, the idea is to create a clay structure supported by a wood-based structure which in turn will be burnt off leaving cavities and imparting a black colour in the residual ceramic shape. Trouble is, all kinds of other stuff can happen too. This one used some willow stems onto which wet clay was woven...you should try it!
I won't fire this for a week or so, as it needs to dry slowly and the surface will need quite a bit of consolidation.
