Equine 999
Today found myself and Meesha’s Mum driving out west on the A93, and found us at the World Horse Welfare (WHW) Centre at Belwade Farm.
We had a very relaxing and delicious two-course lunch (well recommended). The picture today is the view from the Decking Balcony and the Café dining area with Lochnagar in the distance.
The WHW is the largest horse rescue and rehoming charity, and is dedicated via a network of Field Officers to investigate reports of horses in distress, advising owners or bringing horses to there centers for urgent care and rehabilitation.
The WHW also campaign to improve policy and practice across the equine world, shaping the laws that protect horses and promoting better standards of care.
Belwade Farm is home to around 65 horses at any given time, and their staff are on hand to provide brief histories and information about the progress these horses are making.
Whilst eating in the Café you are able to watch the horses being rehabilitated in their very nice indoor school.
Belwade Farm is located in the breathtaking countryside of Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, just off the A93 close to Kincardine O'Neil, AB34 5BJ.
