Reading about it
On a cold wet day, I sat indoors.
I have been reading The Photographer's Eye my Michael Freeman and finding it rather hard going. But finally in chapter 6 it came alive for me. He started to write about the process of taking pictures. "As a photographer, you are essentially 'hunting' for a photograph that meets your own creative needs yet is drawn from a fluid evolving set of events." In this series of shots taken over just two and a half minutes he explains his thoughts behind each exposure, and the book becomes positively animated.
For once, I though I learnt more by staying in than going out.
