At the Movies
I braved the snow to go up to Glenfarg for tonight's Community Cinema offering - the award-winning French film "Untouchable". It is a super feel- good film, funny, touching and quite uplifting. It is based on a true story and is definitely worth seeing.
The village cinema committee do a great job creating a conducive atmosphere in the village hall - there is always popcorn and ice-cream available together with tea and coffee at the interval. You can also bring your own wine and nibbles if you so desire.
The programme for each season is voted for by the regular attendees and tends to favour good independent films, some best sellers and some foreign language and art house films. The audience gives their verdict on each film by the stone in the jar method, from excellent to hated it.
It's a really nice way to spend an evening at the movies with friends without a 15 or 20 miles drive.
Now looking forward to next month's offering - "Sunshine on Leith".
