A Spring in My Step

It's calm, no rain or snow and I can't hear the wind for the first time this year, miracles do happen then. I'm fairly content usually, that the weather will be wet and cold in the winter, sometimes windy with an occasional show of snow. I was beginning to think that it may never stop, so today was a welcome relief.

In fact I caught up with a few neighbours pottering around in their gardens today and that cheered me up because I last saw them out and about at Christmas. They were laughing and telling jokes which always makes me happy, as they're a hoot when they get started.

So I thought this Proust quote summed up my afternoon and I just wanted to say thanks to my neighbours who know so much about the green and brown that is my garden.

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” — Marcel Proust
