Bankfull

We're having nothing like the extreme weather disruption that folk in the south and west are suffering, but I thought I'd pop down to the River Aire when I was in Leeds today to see how full it is getting.

This is the weir just down stream of Crown Point bridge, so the water looks more dramatically turbulent than usual, but as I walked further down the river along the Trans Pennine Trail  it was apparent that the river was only an inch or two shy of spilling over.

Bankfull, and more rain on the way...
