The Lune
It's odd living in Cumbria and listening to the Today program on Radio 4 in the mornings because the broadcasters are unselfconsciously metrocentric. This manifests itself in a few ways but most noticeably with the weather, usually because it's raining here but not in London.
So it's been odd this last few days seeing all the disastrous weather reported from elsewhere in the country. However, last night it was incredibly windy up here, and after my swim I decided to take a scenic route to work, heading up the Lune Valley, towards Sedbergh.
Despite the powerful winds of the night before, there wasn't much to see: beautiful scenery, let down by an overcast sky.
A little way north of Middleton, the road crosses the Lune, and I stopped on the brow to take this.
