Steak and Kidney Pudding

Of no great aesthetic interest, this one, but to mark my first time to make (and probably the only time) a steak and kidney pudding. According to the recipe, it needs a couple of hours to cook the steak and kidney, and then four hours to steam it in its suet case. It was during the second phase that I let the water run dry with the interesting effect that can be seen on the bowl. It didn't seem to affect the taste of the pudding, which wasn't at all bad.
The table is an old French farmhouse table in cherry wood. The man who restored it thankfully didn't sand away the knife marks showing where the chopping was done a hundred or so years ago just above the knife drawer.
