The cicadas are in top form today, which in my opinion is a sign the summer has come after all?! It's sounds like summer and the weather put on a treat. First I took the boys for a few ends at the range and we would tackle a walk after that.
Archery was going great for Ivan today, and he is taking his first competition in 3 weeks! Luka was less impressed as he had to shoot from 30 metres and his bow, strength and attitude were not up for this. We spoke about perseverance, different options to ask for help of other archers, but Luka had had enough. Then going for a walk sounded just like too much effort.
Once we arrived at the beach, ate and drank, the moods changed and exploration became number one. Collecting sticks, climbing rocks, spotting sheep (yeah, even at the beach) battling with wind versus sunhats, enjoying the sound of the waves on the shore line,...
We went for a good hour into the walk (we didn't go all the way, just because we stopped so much to check out rocks, dead crabs, paua shells, massive sticks, drift wood, etc.) and then another hour back, after which we had another snack (peaches!) and enjoyed the ride back along the stunning beauty of Wellingtons East Harbour shore.
Funny how last weekend was just windy and drizzly for 3 days in a row and now we have these amazing late summer days happening.
