Nesting material

Went to discard some branches at the Waimanalo dump. They direct you right on thru to an outside spot where yard waste is being dumped. Saw this (young) cattle egret thinking like it would make a good nest spot, lots of material. Thought these birds were all white, but this juvenile had black feathers on the belly and beige on his breast and head. Will have to view a few more up close to say whether it's usual or not. We were about this . . . . .. close and he didn't spook.
A friend of ours P was dumping the remains of an allspice tree which had been unrooted in our windy wet weather; he had many more trips to go; we limited ourselves to just one today.
Off to other errands . . . ...
