Finding breakfast

Spotted this stilt this morning at Lake Tekapo (NZ). I thought it was a black stilt at first, they are quite rare, but on closer inspection it proved to be a young pied stilt. It let me get reasonably close with my somewhat inadequate 220mm lens before it took flight. I enjoyed watching it darting here and there and puddling in the silt for food.
