The muslim minaret

The mosque in our little village of Archez was converted to the catholic faith but the minaret remains and is recognized as one of the finest in the region. The village went through a very tough time towards the end of the 19th century.
1884 earthquake with large scale damage
1885 cholera killed 58 people
1886 phylloxera killed the vines
........,,they must have been in dispair.
