Peacefulness

I just want to share a little bit of peacefulness today.

I got up at 6.30am ready to be picked up at 7.30 for a trip down to the lake. Neither of us had checked sunrise time so we weren't surprised that we had missed it. As we drove along the lake we could see that the little beaches we would like to have been on for our photos were well under water.

We decided, instead, to go to the car park at Pooley Bridge. Now any time after Easter this place would be heaving on a Sunday with hardly a spare parking place but, today, it was empty.

Our only disturbance was the sound of ducks with their territorial disputes as groups were whooshed by the strong current into places guarded by other groups.

After making a cuppa we went off to look at the deer at Dalemain, the friendly chap who lives in the cottage brought out some crushed nuts and called the birds to my hand to feed.
