The white cockade

This is part of the Battle of Prestonpans tapestry which commemorates the battle by Bonnie Prince Charlie to make a claim for the throne in 1745. It's currently exhibited in Cockenzie house, a 17th century Jacobean mansion which is being restored after many years of being a care home.
The tapestry is 105 metres long and made by volunteers across Scotland. This section shows Prince Charlie picking a white rose which he tucked behind his hat, from then on all his followers wore a white cockade in their hats. I liked this panel because I love flowers and he clearly liked them too.
