Lyme Regis after the storm
On the way home from Torbay we showed the Aussies a few quaint villages and decided on a stop in Lyme Regis. Everyone must have been stir crazy as I have never seen so many people and "their dogs" at Lyme, but it was a beautiful day.(back blip for Sat posted)
The blip shows where the shingle on the beach the west side of the "Cob" had been blown and swept over in the storms we have had recently. Twisted barriers, holes in walls and the amount of driftwood on the beach was amazing. The beach huts no longer have a view of the sea as shingle has provided a huge mound in front of them, at least this might have saved them from the water.
There is very little sand left, that is probably up by Charmouth, excellent example of longshore drift.
Hope all had a good weekend.
